| So only about another week of school and then I'm done...well besides finals that is. Wow, hard to believe. It's really kinda sad actually, I've had a pretty solid line up of classes this semester, good profesors, and some pretty good times in between. That's not to say there have been a few bumps here and there; but you just sort of take it in stride and go from there. I'm so thankful for the great opportunities I've had this past semester. So many incredible chances have presented themselves and I've been fortuanate enough to experience and take part in some great things. From ASAP, ballin it up at Strahan, SA, workouts, Ambassador stuff, to a lot of other stuff, it has really been a great past couple of months. I'll be here this summer taking summer school both sessions and working. It'll be kinda weird this summer, since it will be my last one as an undergrad. Next summer I'll just be working for a few months before I start law school... And speaking of that, I've been getting some info from different law schools in the mail the past few weeks. It's kinda cool seeing what's out there, but I feel like a freshman all over again. And I hate that feeling; it's really tough breaking out of the comfort zone and trying something totally different. But that's what I'm looking to do, and with a good LSAT and a strong GPA, I'm hoping to be able to go to one of my top choices. Take it easy. | | |
| I went to see John Edwards in San Anton the other week. It was pretty sweet...I hauled it down there and ended up having to wait outside for over an hour...but when I finally got in, I grabbed a front row spot right on the corner. After waiting around for a little while longer (though not as long as the first time I saw him), he made his appearance and gave one of the best speeches I've ever heard. Afterward, he walked the rope line and I ended up shaking his hand, talking to him for a few seconds, and got a pic, haha!! I ended up taking 70 + pics at the rally, but the one I got with him didn't turn out too well...I waited around for a little bit after and ended up getting him to autograph one of his campaign posters (which I framed when I got back to SM later that nite) and shook his hand again. A real class act if I ever saw one. All in all, it was well worth being there, as about a week later, I found out a picture of him (with me in the corner watching) was published in Newsweek!!! So ya, I'm a pretty big deal right about now. And yet I continue to keep checking his website to wait and see when he's coming back to Texas (and I'm willing to go as far as Houston, Waco, and maybe Dallas to see him again) LSATs have been taking up a lot of my time lately. That and Spanish has been my life for the past few weeks. But it's alright, I'm just prepping myself for when law school comes around in a little over a year. Hard to believe that I'll be making the call on where I'll end up in a few short months. The short list is pretty much done; now it's just a matter of meeting the admissions requirements... Take it easy. | | |
| So Kelly and I are going to go to the bball game last nite. I get there a few minutes before and can't figure out why the parking lot is so empty. We both end up heading to the gates a couple minutes after 7...except no one's there. We try the doors and one of them is actually open. Haha, so we decide to walk in, walk up the stairs and see there is no one at Strahan. No players, fans, media, cheerleaders, cops,...no one. Long story short, we walked around for a little while and chilled in a couple places throughtout the Colosseum (almost falling asleep a few times...). And of course, we coudn't pass up the chance to drain a few shots on the court...haha, that was something I've always wanted to do. Finally found some lady who told us that the game is actually tonite @ 7... Stoked for summer and then leaving the Ridge in August. Only thing is I'll be a little farther from campus. And then of course I've got LSAT's and law school app's due by the end of the year...so next year at this time I should know where I'm heading to. And I've finally got my short list of schools I'm going to apply to; now all I need is to get accept to them and then I'll be set. Take it easy. | | |
| Two exams at the start of next week which I'm not too excited about...both in Soci. Haha, oh well...it'll give me a good reason to study the next few days. Went to the basketball game again on Thursday nite. Unfort the team lost again...but at least they've got 8 wins for the season. It sure doesn't take much to beat last yr's total...which is kind of sad. Might try and make it to another game before the seasons over...I think the girls team has a home game next week sometime. Not too much longer until football season rolls around. I just wish it would get here sooner...nothing like going to a Sat college football game. Trainings going well. Two a days are a regular for me now. But it's paying off; thanks to all the chicken, eggs, pb, and stuff. At least I'm actually eating a lot now...who knew I was such a good chef?? Take it easy. | | |
| Classes have been going pretty well so far this semester...but damn, Spanish is gonna kick me in the ass I think. Haha, oh well...I've got a few good Soci classes so I can't complain that much. Ambassadors is going well. Recrtuitment is going on; the info session tonite went pretty well. Interviews tom, then selection meeting next week...plus Bobcat GOLD on Friday, Bobcat Day on Saturday, and Scholar's Day next Fri/Mon; talk about a lot of Ambassador work. Went to see the Fray in Austin on Monday nite. The show was incredible; pretty big crowd and our seats were really good too. The opening band, Mute Math, wasn't as bad as I thought...but hey, it could have been U2, haha. The Fray's set was solid; they played most of their songs that I liked...and the end of the show when they ended with How to Save a Life: WOW, talk about a rock star ending...couldn't have scripted it better myself. Then of course we did the traditional Kerby Lane trip...almost as good as the concert! Too much stuff to do to be updating this, nite all. Take it easy. | | |
